Our young people are our future leaders. That’s why Patty participates and sponsors the Children of the Swamp team with FIRST Robotics. Beginning as a freshman in high school, Patty’s oldest son, Christian, was a member of a robotics team and competing globally. Now, as an adult, Christian and many of his robotics alumni, are current mentors of the team. It is extremely inspiring to watch these “kids – then young adults” feel empowered with team spirit (there’s a lot of that!) and to be able to fine tune their unique talents and abilities. Based on age level, here’s how each child can become involved:
FIRST Lego League: Grades PreK – 8 +
FIRST Tech Challenge: Grades 7 – 12 +
FIRST Robotics Competition: Grades 9 – 12 +
